Johnny Dawson
was born in Columbus, Ohio and spent his childhood in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky. He graduated from Circleville High School and found himself in Iraq just eight months later. A Marine Combat Veteran with multiple combat deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom along with serving in the first Battle of Fallujah in 2004, Johnny then provided personal security for 7th Marines Regimental Colonel Crowe in the Al Anbar Province.
In addition to his service, he assisted with protection details as an intern with the Secret Service for President Obama, Vice President Biden, Governor Romney, and House Speaker Paul Ryan in 2012. That same year, Johnny became the first person in his family to obtain a college degree, graduating from The Ohio State University.
After declining his dream job with the FBI following the birth of his son Maddox, he pursued a career in finance, becoming a successful CEO and Private Wealth Advisor. Today, he manages nearly $350 million in assets under management for his clients. Johnny has been featured in the magazine On Wall Street, awarded the Columbus Business First 40 under 40, along with Forbes best-in-state Wealth Management Teams for Ohio.
Today, Johnny and Borah have four sons: Ayden, Maddox, Titus, and Aurelius. In addition to his work in finance, he coaches his son’s youth athletic teams in hockey, baseball, and football. Johnny has led the Hilliard Colts baseball team from 2021 to 2023 with a record of 82-21 with multiple championships including Ohio State Champions in 2023. He instills values of a positive mindset and upstanding character in the youth he coaches, hopeful they can carry lessons from the ball diamond, field, or ice rink to life as adults.
Johnny is dedicated to giving back to his community through leadership and fostering discussions around mental health for Veterans. He often speaks at conferences and business leadership meetings about overcoming your fear by finding your why using his experiences in combat and entrepreneurship.
Johnny created a 12-week long Bible Study that focuses on the effects of PTSD and how we can use our faith to find peace when dealing with PTSD. His hope is to continue nurturing tough conversations that will provide healing to Veterans and men who struggle with the mental Goliaths they may encounter in life.
Johnnie Dixon III
was born in West Palm Beach, Florida where he graduated from Dwyer High School as a four-star recruit. He first found success in football when he helped Dwyer win its second Florida Class 7A State Championship and their first-ever perfect season (15-0). Johnnie was named second team all-state in 2013 and played his best football game in the state playoffs with 17 receptions for 366 yards and six touchdowns in Dwyer’s five-game run to the state title. Rated the 34th prospect in the nation on the ESPN 300 and its’ fifth rated wide receiver, Johnnie committed to The Ohio State University in 2014.
Johnnie battled through injuries in 2014, but still assisted the Buckeyes in their win at the first College Football Playoff National Championship. In 2015, Johnnie’s ongoing recovery from injuries led to depression and mental health struggles. However, Johnnie made a comeback in 2017 and 2018 to achieve a combined 1,111 reception yards and 16 touchdowns with the Buckeyes.
Johnnie is the first person in his family to graduate from a college university with a degree in Sociology and Human Development and Family Services. Johnnie signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL draft, then moved to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.
Johnnie was eventually placed on injured reserve and was then signed with the Dallas Cowboys where he caught his first NFL touchdown pass during a pre-season game in 2021. Again, however, he was released following roster cuts.
Johnnie found success in the USFL with the New Orleans Breakers as a starting receiver, leading the team in both receptions and touchdowns registering 37 receptions for 359 years and four touchdowns. Johnnie today lives in Arizona with his wife Viv, their son Johnnie Dixon, IV, and daughter Zya.
Today, Johnnie has a passion for being in the kitchen and cooking for his family and friends. He also enjoys photography and aspires to become an actor one day. Johnnie is focused on helping athletes overcome their anxiety and depression stemming from sports-related injuries. Using his first-hand knowledge of the metaphorical Goliaths athletes face today, Johnnie also wants to help athletes prepare for and adjust to life after football.
